In general, there are 4 types of quality inspections that can be carried out during the production process.

1. Pre-Production Inspection

2. During-Production Inspection

3. Final-Random Inspection

4. Container-Loading Inspection

When you first place an order at a factory, it is recommended to carry out at least these 4 types of quality inspections during the production process, to make sure there is full control on the production. This makes it possible that during every step in the production process, problems can be detected quickly and action can be taken immediately to solve them.

After you gained trust in your customer over time, you could consider to only carry out an inspection at the final stage of production and/or during the loading of the container.

Every order has different quantities which can differ from a couple of hundred to more than five hundred thousand. To make sure you will get an accurate reflection of the quality, most quality inspections are carried out based on an AQL.

‘AQL‘ stands for ‘Acceptance Quality Limit‘, and is defined as the “quality level that is the worst tolerable” in ISO 2859-1. It represents the maximum number of defective units, beyond which a batch is rejected. Importers usually set different AQLs for critical, major, and minor defects.

Sometimes, when you place your first order at a factory, it is recommended to check 100% of the products to be sure you have a complete reflection of the quality.
